    Broke Contract

We hired Ted to shoot our wedding many months in advance. We signed a contract that included a number of financial penalties if we cancelled, but apparently with none if he cancelled. (That was our second mistake... the first one being hiring this guy in the first place). Just a couple months before our Wedding Day, he cancelled, claiming an "unanticipated conflict". While he referred us to some photographer peers of his, we basically had no choice. It was too close to the wedding to find alternates, so we had to use the referral photographers... and it's not that they did a bad job, but we had no choice in the matter because it was too late to seek alternatives. Ted did not honor our "contract" which was worthless. As it turns out, the "unanticipated conflict" was a more expensive wedding. We saw the pictures he posted on his blog about the wedding he *did* shoot that day... so I guess if there is someone willing to pay more money, any contract of his is null and void. Beware of Ted Johns. If a higher dollar wedding comes along, you will be left in the lurch.
