"Horrible customer service"

One of my best friends is getting married. There are 10 of us in the bridal party, so any retailer would be happy about the money they would make from such a large group of girls, so you would think. The bride found her dress at Sullums and bridesmaids dresses 3 months ago. She got a quote on the bridesmaid’s dresses of $170.00. She felt bad that the dress she picked was that much, but we all agreed to the price. When we went this past Saturday for our sizing and what not, the price of the dresses went up to $230.00. When we inquired about it, we were told “that was a sale price that was quoted 3 months ago and that the sale is over now so you will have to pay the full price now.” She never told the bride that it was a sale price or gave a curtsey call to tell her that was price was going to up and the sale was almost over. The sales lady tried to make it seem like she was doing us a favor by telling us the alterations are free to make up for the price difference. Their policy on alterations states right on their website that parties of 5 or more are free alterations. We told her that we would not pay that much and that we would leave and look other places. Sullums didn't care that they lost a sale that would be over $2300.00 and just let us walk right out the door. The bride now wishes when she found her wedding dress there that she didn't already pay for it and went somewhere else instead of there after they way they talked to her and her bridesmaids. They are very snooty snobs that should not be in the retail business if that is the way they treat people who are willing to spend their money there. They should be grateful especially in this economy, for any sale that they make these days.
