The Virginia Beach native received her Bachelor's in mass media arts from Hampton University, which eventually led her to establish her own photography company. She has been a longtime contributing photographer for Urbanite Magazine. La Kaye cites photography as a medium that allows her to draw out the inward beauty of her subjects.
