Mooncoyne’s instrumentalists – on fiddle, whistle, mandolin, cittern, and guitar + bodhran and percussion – are widely known for their virtuosic arrangements of the dance music of Ireland, including reels, jigs, slip jigs, polkas, slides, and waltzes. The talents of the male and female vocalists also have led to acclaim for the band’s richly textured versions of traditional and contemporary ballads and songs.
