Magic Mike pulled the classic DJ bait-and-switch on us. We had met with him several times prior to our wedding, and had detailed discussions with Mike about the type of music we wanted, and most importantly our needs for amplification for our outdoor wedding ceremony. We had talked to him as recently as three days before the wedding to finalize plans. Lo and behold, Mike didn't even show up for our wedding. In lieu of DJ-ing our wedding, he farmed out the job to another DJ, who unfortunately was not completely up to speed on our needs for microphones for the ceremony, was wearing a tuxedo instead of the requested suit, and was somewhat fixated on playing polkas. Seriously. An important aspect of choosing a DJ for your wedding is meeting your DJ, getting a sense of their style and generally feeling comfortable with them. Mike did not even call to tell us that someone else would be working our wedding. Unless you are willing to accept a surprise for your event, I would not suggest Mike.
