After calling around to a few places and inquiring about a cake for a baby shower, I was interested in trying Edible Creations. My phone call carried out as followed: I introduced my dilemma with the date I needed the cake by, the flavor and filling desired, and the amount of people to feed. The answer I was given to two of the three questions was :"Sure, we can do anything." OK great, because after calling three businesses, asking for a cake to be ready in a week and half was not possible. I asked again about the filling of vanilla custard and was told that they do not make custard. I was also not told who I was speaking with. Next, I inquired about a simple cake for 30 guests. I was asked for a sheet cake, by the baby shower mommy, but it was not necessary. The individual whom I spoke with at Edible Creations responded to this statement with, "I don't know why you want a sheet cake. Publix does sheet cakes, and we are not Publix." Considering I understood the phone number and establishment I called, I am not sure why she needed to inform me that they "were not Publix" and I did not demand a sheet cake from her, I simply asked what my options were as the baby shower mommy just had a 1/4 sheet cake in mind. I was given an entire speech about Edible Creations and what they do. After being given that information, I asked for pricing and decoration options. I was interested in the Jungle Cake that appears right here on Yelp, and wanted to know the price of that. she had no idea what I was talking about and asked if I could email her the photo. Ok fine. I then asked for an estimate price and was given $3.75 per person. After telling her about the jungle theme, she quoted me at $140 for a ONE TIER cake that only feeds 30 guests. Confused, I asked why the price was so high and she went on to tell me AGAIN of her business and what they do. I simply wanted to know how we went from $3.75 a guest to now $5 a guest. She argued and said that it was not $5 a person. Ok maybe my math was wrong, but $140 for a cake that only feeds 30 is way more than $3.75 per person. She then responded with, "well what did you think? I was going to give you the toys for free??" I am not sure why she thought I wanted toys on the cake, because the photo on Yelp does not have toys anywhere, the cake is decorated with fondant. I ignored her rude remark, and asked what entailed the $3.75 per person cake. She did not respond. After a few more seconds I was told, "You know what? I am not making a cake for you. I will not make any cakes for you and do not call back." WOW. I answered with, "thank you for your great customer service," and was then hung up on. I am not quite sure who this woman was that I spoke with, owner or not, but her attitude was way out of line and she was not accommodating. In order for me to satisfy her over-the-top prices, I should have been treated a little better than that. I was not given any help or any satisfaction considering she could not accommodate the simple flavors of vanilla cake with vanilla custard, had no idea about this Yelp listing or its photos, and wanted to simply place toys on a cake for $140. Unless you are physically in her bakery, it is impossible to know the quality of work and be ok with paying $140 for a small one-tier cake. I visited her website, and the photos are less than excellent for children's parties. I will say her wedding cakes are beautiful, but after this experience I will NOT be considering her for my wedding next year. STRONGLY ADVISE NOT EVEN BOTHERING WITH EDIBLE CREATIONS.
