I had "Dean of Photography" do my wedding pictures last summer, 2010... for one reason. My in-laws bid on a package to raise money at a church event... We were all very excited to not have to worry about finding a photographer on our own. After I reviewed her website, I was really nervous. None of her pictures were my style, but I thought if I could just sit down with her and explain what type of pictures I wanted, we could get on the same page and it would be fine. After meeting with her, and her basically saying she'd "do her best" to get the shots I wanted, she left. I'm sure she was just as annoyed with me as I was with her. It was a couple of months till the big day, and I didn't have time to deal with finding another photographer on such short notice. And I told myself it would be fine. Another little treat about this lady is that she did NOT come to my wedding rehearsal the day before my wedding. That is one of THE most important things about wedding photography. Once the big day came, she told me that she was only going to be there for four hours.... it was impossible to get pictures of the bride and groom getting ready, then the ceremony, then dinner, cake cutting AND the first dance... in four hours. Five or six would have been better... and this was another one of those things we weren't aware of till last minute. If we had known this before, we would have found someone else... perhaps a toddler with a camera would have sufficed. Thankfully, my mom and I remembered a friend of mine (my age) with an excellent eye for photography and we paid her a small amount to come and take pictures too. She got pictures 1000x better than this lady. Diann was rude, incompetent and took pictures that literally, my ring bearer could have taken. Maybe for some people, she's fine, but if you have an eye for photography and you want modern, unique and hip pictures for your big day GO ELSEWHERE. One look at her website should tell you that.... all in all, this was an amateur AT BEST photographer... with no personality, style, or talent. My wedding was 99% perfect. I'm sure you can guess what the 1% was... and I will never be able to recapture these memories.
