"Think Twice About This Place"
Woodhaven, New York
February 7, 2011
Here it is Monday evening, my new wife just got off the phone with the owner to tell her about our problems, the owner started raising her voice at my wife. This past Sat 2/5/11 we had our wedding reception, small party just family and a handful of friends. Some guests arrived a bit early but were told they couldn't come in because they weren't ready, okay no problem but the way it was delivered was absolutely rude. Me the groom had to beg Nina to please allow our guests who had an infant to enter because it was pouring freezing rain, she relented and allowed it. I provided my own liquor and Nina said the handtruck was broken, when was the last time your heard about a handtruck breaking and it was miraculously working a couple of hours later. The DJ, food and staff service was good. During the party no problems, end of the party we were pretty much kicked out, Nina told several of our guests "The party over now so get out" "If you don't pick up your purse from the table it'll be thrown out!" Initially we were made to wait to enter the hall but at 705pm the next guests party were already entering, some of them even congratulated me directly. We get home only to find out that some of our gift cards with money was missing! Not misplaced, not lost because I witnessed my friend's wife insert their card in our wedding sack which contained money turn up missing and yes we made a Police Report earlier this evening. We can't accuse anyone because the guests were close family members and close friends, however there was a stranger who came in and apparently knew the staff but left in a huff a few minutes later, very suspicious. The total amount missing came up to 500.00 cash, what a way to celebrate your first day of being married. Nina was not only rude to our guests but rude to her staff, her sister the owner Selena was rude to my wife just moments ago. We are the customers, we went their in good faith paid their fee but what did we get, talked down to, treated rudely and told to get out. They got our money and someone made off with our wedding gift money what a way to start our marriage with bad memories! I don't and wouldn't recommend this place unless of course you want bad memories of your marriage. We were treated like crap, the owner could care less and we spent and hour and half waiting for the cops to take our report. I know my new wife and I will survive this ordeal, I wanted good memories of our reception. Save yourself a poor experience and go some where else. Sorry if I misspelled anything or had some run on's but I'm wiped out! Thanks, hope it helps someone from a bad experience such as ours.
