"Ruined the Party!"

I ordered a three layer cake way in advance. I met with Crystal and went over every detail for my daughter's 16th birthday. I was very excited and Crystal acted as though it was not an especially difficult design. The day of my daughter's party I received a call from Crystal 20 minutes before she was to deliver the cake. She said she was having problems with my cake and a wedding cake because of humidity and asked if we could meet her half way between our house and hers to pick up the cake so that she could complete the wedding cake on time. Reluctantly, I asked my husband to meet her to get the cake. When he returned home, he said that I could have done a better job myself. The cake was to have been a different fondant color on each layer. They were all the same rippled mess. There were to have been fondant stripes and polka dots on the cake -- she just painted them on, and it was a rather sloppy job. The cake was leaning to one side. The fondant flowers that were to have been on the cake were plastic (she later told me that she had two beautiful flowers made, but that her daughter had knocked them down and broken them). The special features that I had requested on the cake were non-existent. I specifically said "no white icing" and it was piped all over the cake. As far as I was concerned, it was a hot mess. AND, she blamed it on the humidity. My daughter was very disappointed in the cake as well. When I called her and requested a refund, she told me that she thought the cake looked good. Honestly, it looked nothing like any of the cakes on her website. I received a $100 refund.

I felt very comfortable with the consultation so I decided to go with Lynn for my wedding cake. Iordered a 3 tier cake with 3 different flavors. I felt no pressure when we talked about designs and she listened to what I wanted. She gave us a discount because my fiance was active in the military (This is not on her website). The day of the wedding I got a text from her. I thought there may have been a problem but the text was a picture of the finished cake. It was beautiful and exactly what I wanted. I also appreciated the picture because it took some stress off of me that day. The cake arrived as pictured, and tasted better than it looked. I'd order from her again in a heartbeat!!!

I just want to thank you for the Minnie Mouse cake and cupcakes. It's exactly the way I wanted it! The cake looked amazing and I sure did get alot of compliments on the cake. Thank you so much for making the cake so perfect for my daughters first birthday!

I found Crystals Custom Cakes online and contacted her about a cake for my fiancees surprise 40th birthday party. We spoke at length on email and over the phone about what I wanted and she was confident she could do it. A couple of weeks before the party she stopped returning my phone calls and emails. Luckily I contacted PA Bakery in Camp Hill and explained what happened. It was short notice but they made my Gorilla cake, it looked and tasted awesome and they made it twice as big for the same money Crystal was going to charge. Thank god for them or the party would have been ruined. I've planned several events in my life and never had somebody just drop the ball like that, no phone call, no reason, no communication, no explaination. Inexcusable.

Our wedding cake turned out fantastic!! It tasted as good as it looked and it looked beautiful. She even got the colors right from the swatches I gave her. The only potential issue was that she was a bit late but that was due to another customer taking up more time than she was supposed to. Lynn got the cake to our hall in plenty of time and sent me pictures of it so that I knew what it looked like before I came in. I can't thank her enough!

Vendor response: I'm glad you liked your cake so much! It happens sometimes where a customer doesn't pick up their cake on time which has me running late, this is why I set up delivery at least 1 hour before an event so I do have that extra time just in case. On a whim my 5yr old daughter decided she wanted a Ladybug cake for her birthday. I figured I would end up having a plain sheet cake with a ladybug picture on it. Oh, I was oh so wrong!! Lynn of Crystals Cakes made an AMAZING 3D ladybug in a garden cake, it was just beautiful and my daughter and all her friends just loved it! I can't say enough positive things about this company. Great communication, yummy cake, & free delivery are just a few of the reasons I will reccomend Crystals Custom Cakes to my friends and use her again myself!

I was overjoyed with the cake Crystal made for my daughters birthday. With her being a mother, I felt comfortable leaving the design up to her. She ended up putting smiles on all the partygoers at my daughter's 8th birthday party. The cake tasted as good as it looked. Her skill is extraordinary.

I chose Crystal's Custom Cakes to do my wedding cake after having met with several other places in the area. She was so nice in helping me design my cake. Her cake flavors were to die for. I chose the Rasberry Swir and the Red Velvet. I have had quite a few people ask me where I got the cake. The cake looked even more beautiful than the design. I am looking forward to next year for my free anniversary cake.

Lynn did an excellent job helping my daughter and son-in-law picking out their cake last summer. The cake was excellent and so was the service. I'm going back there for my other daughter's wedding this year!

I was looking for someone to make a nightmare before Christmas cake for my wife's surprise birthday party when I found Lynn on line. After calling her and telling her what I was looking for, she said no problem and set up an appointment to meet with her. Working with Lynn was great. She was very into designing the cake and had a lot of great ideas. When she delivered the cake on the big day, everyone was amazed. The guests rushed up to the cake and were taking pictures and video of it before my wife could even get to it! A lot of time, attention to detail and talent went into my cake. We were very happy and satisfied and if I ever need a cake again, Lynn will be the first one I call.
