"Avoid!"

We hired Bill to do caricatures during our wedding reception. He can highly reviewed and we were excited about giving caricatures as our gift to our guests. From the very beginning Bill was rude and difficult to deal with. Even though we paid on time and upfront, he was hostile bordering on paranoid. His lack of etiquette to us was the least of his problems. On the night of the reception, we knew he was not the greatest. He rotates through about five different images that have little to do with the person sitting in front of him. The fact that every caricature looked the same regardless of sex, age, race, or ethnicity became a joke during the reception. What we did not know until later was how impolite he was to our guests. We were married nearly six months ago. Over the past few months every time we have seen one of our guests we hear a different story about how rude the caricature artist was. We actually went to a friend's wedding last week who also had a caricature artist (reminding me that I had yet to review Bill). We were struck by the night and day contrast of that caricature artist - both in terms of talent and friendly attitude. That said, we had a lovely wedding and our "terrible caricature artist" became a funny joke that added to the memories of our wedding. Perhaps he just had a bad day; but I would definitely caution anyone who was thinking about using him to proceed with extreme caution.
