My husband and I came in here a few Saturday's ago to browse for a potential necklace. Our anniversary was coming up in a week and it being our 10 years my husband wanted to get me something nice. Gloria greeted us and was very polite. We let her know that we just wanted to browse and she was happy to let us, didn't stay on our heels watching our every move. It was a nice change of pace. The selection is large, every time I thought I found something perfect something else would catch my eye. Everything is crafted beautifully. When it did come time to ask Gloria for help she made it very easy. She answered all our questions and didn't try to make a fast sale. She was a pleasure to work with. After deciding on a beautiful diamond necklace she made notes on a card of the other pieces I had liked, just in case we came back. I really like that idea; I found it to be very personable of her. She explained that they like to keep files of their customers, to keep in touch for birthdays, anniversaries, and finger sizes. And I am sure it will come in handy because we will be back, or at least my husband will if he knows what's good for him.

It's hard to walk into a jewelry store and feel at ease, but this place is pretty good about it. Bert was very friendly and professional, not scary at all. My fiancé and I were both pretty clueless about what to get for an engagement ring for her, all we knew is that we wanted to pick it out together. Knowing that we know close to nothing Bert arranged for us to compare solitaires to 3 stone rings. My fiancé was able to try them on and see what style fit her finger best. And the best part is that everything Bert showed us was within our budget, not one ring was above, he didn't take advantage of our lack of knowledge. We felt respected. My fiancé fell in love with a delicate looking princess cut solitaire that had a diamond studded band. She lit up as soon as she put it on and I knew she had found her ring. It was close to budget and I was worried that I might go over because every ring needs a warranty. Bert told me not to worry, the warranty would be free and there is no void on it if we don't come in every 6 months, which is great because we won't remember to come in like that. This is a really great store, I didn't walk out with any buyer's remorse and we were both extremely happy.

I was shocked to actually find a case with vintage jewelry. I am an avid collector and knew I had found a treasure chest. What a selection, is all I can say. The second reason is the outstanding and reliable service. Bert seemed very genuine and kind that I knew right away that I was in the right company because Bert makes for great company. He was so patient with me and all my questions which he never hesitated to answer. He took out each piece and let me take my time looking at it thoroughly. The third reason is the fact that Bert believes in sharing his prosperity. After he rung me up he took a portion on my sale and offered to give me a check with it to any charity of my choice. I was ecstatic since I am a volunteer when it comes to feeding the homeless, which is where my donation went obviously. So all in all, it was a beautiful experience and I am happy to have this store in my life! )

Bert Levi Jewelers is the only place my husband and I buy jewelry/watches. They don't try to up-sell you on their designs and no pressure. They let the jewelry speak for itself. And the jewelry speaks volumes. You get warm and personable service from both Bert and Gloria, or anyone in the store really. They literally treat you like part of the family. They do great work and make you feel looked after, aiming to please and understanding budgets while helping you figure out what you want. Nowadays, budgets can be a little smaller but Bert and his family understand this and the prices are overly fair. In fact, he promises that if you take your purchased jewelry somewhere else to be appraised that it will appraise for double. I didn't want to mention this without trying it, so my husband and I brought one of my rings to an undisclosed jeweler, and it did appraise for double, just a tad over to be exact. So I can confidently say that the claim is true and you will probably pay less then you really should. Most of all the service is gold, it cannot be touched by any other jeweler. I don't know how he does it but Bert really has a way of making you feel at ease and at home. It's a gift and he uses it well. I only write reviews on places that are worth my time, and Bert Levi Family Jewelers is worth every minute.

So I came to BLFJ after a Yelp search. I just wanted to get my girlfriend of 4 years a nice engagement ring, and I didn't want a horrible experience doing it. I went to a few of the usual big name places and met salespeople that were the fakest of the fake, horrible. They talked down to me and I felt insulted. I turned to Decidio thinking that there has to be a place that has just normal helpful salespeople. Bert's place looked legit according to the reviews but I went in not expecting too much. I was greeted by Bert and he was very friendly. I explained my needs and budget and again that I just wanted something simple. I was praying that this would go well, and it was, but I still feared the gimmicks and surprise markups at the register. Bert seemed like an honest man, and he didn't try to up sell me by any means, and the nice part is that each ring has a visible price attached to it. I ended up with a simple solitaire, which is the right style for my fiancé. Bert was a great help, and I am happy to report that I paid the price on the tag, no add-ons, no sales tax, and a free warranty to top it off. I will gladly shop here again.

The local jewelers here are all about the sale, with little regard to developing a personal relationship and dedication to service. Bert Levi's is hands down the best shop for jewelery in San Diego. I've purchased from them numerous times, from my wifes wedding ring to diamond studs for our daughters sixteenth birthday. The atmosphere is friendly and helpful, and the whole family makes a concerted effort to get you what you need. You won't find a more qualified or helpful group of jewelers anywhere in the city, and I'd venture to say anywhere in the country. If you're looking to buy diamonds or any other type of jewels, don't even bother with the big chains or seedy stores, go straight to Bert's, he'll help you get what you need.

I was referred to Bert Levi by a family friend after having no luck with local jewelers. I wen't to 15+ jewelry stores looking for an engagement ring before I discovered Bert Levi. Everyone else was only concerned with selling me something, anything. At Burt Levi I experienced a helpful staff and great customer service. They were more concerned with answering my questions and helping me find what I was looking for, over just making a sale. I bought an engagement ring and have since proposed. My fiancée loves the ring that Bert helped me choose. I will definitely be back in the future.

This is a great local business. Fortunately for me, I came upon them purely by luck... I saw a video about the company on YouTube. The thing that stuck with me more than anything was the fact that they have been in business for three generations. In this economy, it's difficult to survive... But these guys weather the storm and have to earn every dime. Give them a chance and you'll be happy you did. I know I am glad that I found them!

This place is all about tradition, they have been around longer than any other Jewelery place in San Diego. The whole family works there and it creates a great environment to be in. You can tell they are all actually happy to be there and even more happy to help, but they are never pushy! A great jeweler creates an environment of expertise and trust - and the owner and diamond consultant, Bert Levi, is as good as they come. People come from all over the world to shop here. Bert Levi Family Jewelers is a great reminder of how people should treat people. His whole family is warm and respectful; I have honestly never met anyone like them, especially in a family setting. My gracious husband decided I deserved something nice for our 5 year anniversary, and wanted me to come with him to pick it out together. It’s really more fun that way. As soon as we walked in Zara was all smiles and very welcoming. My hubby told her why we were there, and I told her I had no clue on exactly what I was looking for. Zara was so patient and extremely knowledgeable; she was able to answer every question we had without hesitation. She spent a lot of time with us, first showing us bracelets, then earrings, and then necklaces, which I ultimately decided I needed. I haven’t had a new necklace in a long while so I wanted it to be unique. Zara offered that if I did not find what I was looking for then we could do their custom option, which doesn’t cost any extra….music to my ears! The hubby liked the sound of that also. So next I met Bert, whom I found out was the owner. He was so helpful when it came to telling him what I want, and him sketching it over and over till we got something that looked like my vision. He was also really patient and kept us entertained the whole time. Zara was a total sweetheart, offering us delicious tea; I have never had tea like that before. They asked us questions about ourselves, and it felt like they actually wanted to get to know us, they are really personable in a good way. And the selection of jewels was spectacular, honestly. I didn’t know what to pick out, but decided on two beautiful pearls, one white and one black. I walked out of there very excited to get the finished product, and knowing I had made the right decision without being pushed into anything. So Bert called a few days later and told us the necklace was finished, I couldn’t wait to go get it! When we got there Bert had the necklace ready for me to try on. And might I say it was the most beautiful necklace, it’s honestly not even comparable to any of the jewelry I own. The pearls were set perfectly into the design; I couldn’t have imagined it any better. I hugged Bert I was so happy with it! And the compliments have not stopped, women are always asking where I got my gorgeous necklace, and while I tell them to go see Zara and Bert, I make sure to also let me know it’s my own design.

I'm getting ready to pop the question to my girlfriend of 4 years and boy, am I nervous! My buddies and I took the whole day to shop for the perfect ring for her but unfortunately, most of the places didn't have a ring that I wanted. Bert and his staff were incredible to work with! I was visiting my cousin in San Diego and this is where he purchased his engagement ring. (I am about to pop the question!) When all of the shops I have been too the pressure from the sales people were just too much. Not here! Bert was so kind and easy to work with. In the end he helped me find something perfect. Excellent service. And when the ring was not a perfect fit for my fiance, they resized it with no cost.

My fiance loved the ring I purchased for her. I didn’t really know where to start when looking for a ring and my cousin recommended me to Bert Levi. When I walked in, I saw thousands of diamonds, and rings, I didn’t know what I was going to do with myself! The diamond education available from Bert Levi was invaluable. (These people really know their stuff) They offered to help me with a unique design from pictures I had of rings I knew my fiance liked, and they didn’t charge me. I was completely at ease by the time I'd made my purchase, there is a real family setting here, which I liked. I unfortunately gave them the wrong size for the ring, and it was too small for my fiance’s finger, I was so embarrassed, but Bert Levi re-sized the ring for free! (That’s quality service) They have even offered to give us a free cleaning, which we will take advantage of right before the big day. I couldn't be happier with the service I received.

I am so glad I bought my future wife's engagement ring here. I had gone to a few places first and felt like I was shopping for a car, the salespeople were very pushy. But not Bert, he stands out above the rest. You know you have come to the right place as soon as you walk in.Bert was helpful, honest, and wanted to make sure I walked out happy with the perfect ring for my perfect girl. His prices can't be beat, he doesn't tack on little extra's here or there. And there is no tax, extra plus! His family was there and they were all very happy to help. You can tell Bert is a family man in the way he welcomes you in with a warm smile and open hand. We sat down together and created the most beautiful diamond ring, I had no idea I would be able to get what Bert made me. And he works fast. My girlfriend loved the ring, it brought tears to her eyes and I know she will treasure it forever. She has already gotten tons of compliments on it, which makes me look good too, haha. I was in San Diego for a seminar when I first saw the Bert Levi Family Jewelers shop. Months later, when I was already thinking about proposing to my girl, I remembered them and decided to pay them a visit. I actually don't know what to get my girl but Bert (yes, the owner himself!) sat down with me and discussed with me the different engagement rings that they have. With 5-6 days ago, I was looking for a ring for my girlfriend. Unfortunately, the budget does not allow me too much,I searched several store and finally I found something magnificent. Bert Levi Family Jewelers store stands by quality, unique design and elegance. Most of the jewels are created manually and are unique. The materials used are quality and associated in a manner that shows good taste. You will find something suitable for all preferences. Of course, you will find common patterns, but most are truly special. My gilrfriend told me that when she wears that ring, she feels like a lady of yore, It's a special feeling. We highly recommend this beautiful store!
