In August of 2010 Alexis Diamond House, LLC (Alexis), doing business in Pinellas County, was hired to create a diamond engagement ring at a cost of $5,000 cash plus Charles Joseph’s platinum valued at $1,500. The ring design was to be similar to a ring found on Shapiro Diamonds, LLC (Shapiro) website. This ring was delivered in November 2010. Upon giving the ring to my fiancé it was noted that the ring was not the correct size and that 2 of the points of the channel set diamonds were sticking thru the bottom of the ring into her finger. The ring was returned to Alexis for repairs. Repairs were done and were not of the design or quality expected. The ring was again returned to Alexis. Alexis proceeded to make additional repairs to the ring. Once again these repairs were found to be far below the quality described by Alexis. On February 18, 2011 the ring was sent to Shapiro Diamonds, LLC in Dallas, Texas. A letter from Shapiro stated the issues with the current ring from Alexis. Shapiro has been retained to create a new ring at a cost of $2,500. A small claims suit has been filed in Pinellas County.
