""Thirsty as .....""

I recently attended a 'graduation party' at Affairs at Peaches Divine. I did not get a chance to personally meet the owners of the facility but based on my observations, I felt compelled to make the following comments and suggestions: When you're in the catering business and hosting an event (especially an event involving teenagers), 'ice' cold beverages should be readily available. There was some form of ‘room temperature’ lemonade served in what appeared to be 4 oz. cups (too small), and NO ICE!!! Finally, I inquired about some ice water; the staff returned with a small water pitcher of ice water. By that time, the need to quench my thirst was so great, I almost drunk the entire pitcher of water -- by myself. (And surely, if I was that thirsty, imagine the ‘desires’ of the other guest.) The servers were young and overwhelmed with serving food and totally unconscious of the beverage needs of the guest. Second, after finally getting and drinking a descent amount of water ...you guessed it, I looked for the restroom. Once visibly located, I was apprehensive to use it as the location was not inviting at all. The restrooms were in this 'dark' mysterious room area, around a corner with facilities not well identified. The location and atmosphere made me feel very uncomfortable. Last, I think that the food table should have been located closer to the kitchen. This would of prevented the staff from crossing in front of guest to restock/cleanup the food area, especially pushing those ‘old’ carts.

For the service received, I feel like I basically donated 575 bucks to Affairs at Peaches Divine. The extra 75.00 was charged for a second friend of the main guest, my son, who shared the same event, although Peaches did not have to hire any additional staff or provide any additional food our guests. The meatballs were just o.k., more than I can say for the overly breaded chicken wings and the burger sliders in rolls which were not, in my opinion, quality in taste. The centerpieces used (feathers in a glass globe with satin cloth) were old and needed to be replaced. The 3 green poles in the building were uncovered which I requested to be covered in our initial meeting. Luckily, I arrived early enough to get her employees to cover them before my event started. The bathrooms had not been cleaned; one had a dead cockroach in the floor while the other had a dead cricket. It has been almost three wks. since my event, and the owner has never bothered to follow up with me to see if I was satisfied with the service. Two young, nice, but undertrained females worked the event attempted to render professional service (the same two who covered the poles). I would not consider using this business again and would never recommend her to anyone I know. Peaches (the owner) seems to be a nice and pleasant person; she has potential, but appears that she's taking shortcuts with customer service which is eventually going to be her downfall. She was not on-site during my event, but the gentleman whom I think may have been her spouse tried to make up for her shortcomings. Bottomline, if you're going to charge first-class prices, give people first-class service! I am and was totally disappointed! I could have done better myself. My experience was anything but professional. I didn't bother to complain because it probably would have been useless. For the money spent, I felt little care and attention was given to what I considered a very special event to my family, my son's high school graduation!!!
