Bittersweet Media offers you uncompromised quality, creative control, customer service and value in a wedding video. The owner is personally involved with every project and will be with you on your wedding day. Because of this promise, we only videotape one wedding per day.
We offer four different editing styles, each one with the ability to be customized by the client. Prices start at $950 for full day coverage on DVD. All packages come with at least two cameras and a review DVD for you to approve before copies are made.

I am one of the top wedding planners in Chicago. I met Joe many years ago, and referred him to many clients as a mid range priced videographer. Product and service were fine. My 9/20/08 clients hired him, sent the check and contract back. The check cleared, and we rec'd no copy of the signed contract. Months went by. I finally tracked him down by going to his office space, where I missed him. We finally spoke and he had a laundry list of excuses why he didn't call back. I told him that I thought we just wanted to cancel, but needed him to send back the deposit. He then did send back the contract. I then tried to get ahold of him to make sure he was on board. After the same "this mail box is full" and his cell phone number be reassigned to someone else, (who is getting alot of calls). I then hired another videographer. He did not show up on the wedding day. I reimbursed my client for the deposit, so I am now working with an attorney to track him down. I am contacting the Better Business Bureau, all the wedding magazines, All of my contacts in the Association of Bridal Consultants, National Associaiton of Catering Executives, International Special Event Society and the 2 National Videographers Assocations (WEVA and one other). We are also filing a police report. I tried on numerous times to contact him and avoid him going thru this, but after months and months of being ignored, I have no other choice than to go this route. If anyone has any information, please contact me. He also did not finish 2 of the videos from my 2007 Clients. If I have any luck contacting him, I will put up another post with any information I can pass on to the numerous others who are in the same boat as I. Still waiting for my video too - I was so impressed with him in the beginning and all I want now is my finished video. Even if it doesn't have the edits I requested. Going to the Better Business Bureau this week to report him. Like I said, all I want is my video in the last condition I say it is fine.... Was married on Sept 2, 07!!!

I like many of you have not heard from Joe after my wedding which was July 5, 2008. I'm really worried and upset, at first, I thought, maybe something happened to him, but after reading all of the reviews I now know that he just refuses to get in touch. I would be happy with just a call or email to let me know that I will eventually get my video of what was the happiest day of my life, but nothing! Everytime I call his number, 312-464-0778, I get voicemail and then his mailbox is always full, I have not received any response from his emails either. Now, his website is "temporarily disabled!" I'm frustrated and ready to cry over this...DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY INFORMATION!? IF SO, PLEASE CALL ME AT 773-829-2048...We haven't waited as long as some of you, but at this point, my husband and I are thinking lawsuit.

My husband and I used Joe in June for our wedding. After calling him and emailing him about our video, I am VERY nervous. He said we would have our raw footage within 2-3 months and we're just about at 3 months but after reading all of these responses I'm getting nervous. I just want a call back and my video! Our photographer worked with him on several occasions and recommended him to us so him not contacting us is very unprofessional. He has 3/4 of our money and he better call us asap...

My husband and I were married Sept. 1, 2007, and still no video. Like everyone else who posted comments on this site, I was able to meet with Joe Latona a few times before the wedding, and he did show up to videotape the actual day, but after the wedding, it was IMPOSSIBLE to get a hold of him. We finally received our raw footage about 9 months after the wedding, but over a year and multiple ignored emails and voicemails later, still no final video. Not only that, but he has personal property of ours including pictures and a CD. If anyone is interested in filing a group claim against Bittersweet Media and Joe Latona, please call me at 312-494-6709.

I got married about a year ago, Sept, and still have not received the finished product of my wedding video. Between numerous emails, phone calls, and certified letters, i'm still missing quite a bit of the puzzle. I have filed with the attorney general to no avail. The next step is court. I would suggest that everyone who is still waiting for their video and haven't had any correspondence with Joe, needs to go the legal route. That is the only way of getting what you rightfully paid for.

Like so many others of you on this site, we can't get in touch with Joe. He has been completely unresponsive since our wedding. Back in July we received an envelope with raw footage of our wedding, but it included only the ceremony, not the reception or the video dedications from friends and family. At this point, I just want to get the raw footage, so that we can capture the memories. If anyone has any info on Joe, please call 773.294.4999. JOE - if you are reading these reviews, PLEASE JUST SEND THE RAW FOOTAGE, NO QUESTIONS ASKED.

Like many of the other reviews, my husband and I had a similar experience with Joe and Bittersweet Media. He was great prior to the wedding day and on the wedding day, however we were unable to reach him for months. My husband and I tried emailing, calling, etc for months after our September 2007 wedding. We finally received the video today, however I would absolutely not recommend this company to anyone.

2 days after I posted my last review entitled "Avoid! ", we finally received a preliminary copy of our final wedding video. It took nearly 7 months of no communication with Bittersweet for us to finally get it, but the video is actually quite good and we are happy with the results. However, I think Bittersweet and Joe Latona really need to work on communicating with their customers a whole lot better. A simple returned phone call or returned e-mail just to give us an update on why it's being delayed or any type of information on the progress of our video would have gone a long, long way.

My wife and I used Joe Latona and Bittersweet media for our wedding last year. What an absolute mistake! He came recommended by our DJ, but I don't think our DJ knew about how horribly shady and dishonest Bittersweet Media and Joe Latona are to their customers. Do yourself a favor…use someone else and avoid Bittersweet Media like the plague. Hire your friend's little brother for a couple hundred dollars and a cam-corder and you'll probably get the same quality of work and save a lot of frustration and anger. Bittersweet Media is beyond shady. Like the other reviewers have stated, Bittersweet owner Joe Latona is very friendly and reachable prior to your wedding day and will even show and film your event, but good luck getting a hold of him after the fact. And good luck ever seeing a final professional video from them. Avoid! If Decidio allowed zero star ratings...that's what Bittersweet would get. Zero!

We used Joe for our wedding in October 2007. It is now the second week in June and I don't have my final video cut. I had to ask numerous times to get my raw footage, which I finally got months later, but I have pretty much given up on getting the final video. It is very sad that he would be so unresponsive after the wedding - so much so that you wonder if something happened to him. If you are looking for a videographer for your wedding, don't trust his charming, boyish demeanor. (Though I admit he did a wonderful job of filming our wedding and was very polite and fun to work with.)

We had a wedding in September 07. We met the owner and he was very sweet and interested and fully reachable prior to the wedding. After the wedding, we have called and emailed numerous times and have not recieved any response in 6 months!!!! We are so disappointed and truly suprised. We are truly saddened that as a newly married couple we will get to learn the joys of filing a lawsuit so early in our marriage.

For all the preparation for the big wedding day, everything was fine. I was in contact with the videographer here and there. Never met him in person until the wedding day itself. The two people who were hired to film the wedding did a good job. However, post wedding, all contact with this person was nonexistent. It's been quite a while since I have heard anything and am still waiting on my dvd of the wedding. This person is very unprofessional in that he has not returned any phone calls, emails, etc. We don't know if we are going to get a dvd or not. I would not recommend this person to film a video for your special day. Take your business and money elsewhere.
