"Booked one car got poor substitute and zero customer service"
Georgia
April 23, 2008
I booked a particular Vehicle (1956 Vintage Bentley) six weeks prior to daughter's Prom. No problems noted.FOUR days prior to event received a call telling me car was not available because back window had a permenant Just Married Sign, ok, dont' know why that wasn't mentioned in the beginning. They offered to sub a completely white vintage 1975 Rolls Silver Shadow with cream interior, we had wanted white to better show her dress in photos to be used for graduation but what else could we do four days before event? Two days before Prom, another call, original car we booked (Bentley) was available, all happy. Then about 40 minutes before pickup on event day, another call, no Bentley (developed brake problems) and we were getting the Rolls. He was 30 minutes late and the car that pulled in was a Rolls but not THE Rolls he had told me we would get as a sub. Car had white body, but a dark blue roof and same color interior, We wanted all white/cream inside and out. To us there was nothing special about this car other than it was a Rolls Royce, owner didn't agree, thought it was the best car in his fleet, well not for us.We booked the Bentley because it was a true classic and looked like a mini limo, we didn't want a Rolls too boxy, I also feel owner should have told us up front about the sign on the window, I would have looked elsewhere. This has not been resolved, no contact from company. Please check out throughly any service you are considering, A White Rolls Royce promises on its website to provide you with a most memorable occassion and that they have great customer support, We certainly didn't get that.
Vendor response: From owner Tim Lorenz
The order of events were that because the Bentley had a permenant "Just Married" on the back window we would like to substitute our Rolls Royce and yes we offered the all white one with the idea that another client would like the Bentley.
The client who had the Rolls Royce booked was actually not happy to take the more vintage Bentley. So now we had two unhappy clients.
So to make it all work out- we had the permenant "Just Married" letter removed and 2008 put on at an expense of $150. I called the prom client and told her that I had sorted it out and that I was having the 2008 put on the Bentley at an expense of $150. She was so very happy, that she even offered to pay half of the cost of the 2008 on the back window.
It is important to follow that the original "other" client was NOT changing from the all White Rolls Royce they booked. They did not want the Bentley.
This is the important part of this story because we were only "trying" at one point to have one client take one car and the other client take another. As mentioned that was not ok with the wedding client to switch to the Bentley. So that idea went dead and I decided to pay the $150 to make it all come out where everyone had the "original" car they booked.
Now comes the unfortunate part for the prom client-
We did change the letters on the back window from "Just Married" to 2008 at the expense of $150. We were virtually "on our way" to the prom clients house when the brakes just were not working correctly on our 1956 Bentley. AS SOON as we knew that they simply were not safe we called the prom client and explained that the Bentley had developed a problem but we did have a Rolls Royce available that was not in use that night. To be honest it was a miracle we had a car available as most every Saturday our cars are fully booked. I never gave it one thought that she expected the all white Rolls Royce. I thought it was just good we could do her event at all.
What she missed is the process of what we "had tried" to do and that was to have her take the all White Rolls Royce and the wedding client who had booked the all white Rolls Royce to take the Bentley. So when we resolved the fact that we could and would change out the permenant "Just Married" for the 2008 letters, it has to be followed that the original wedding client was not taking the Bentley and keeping their original reservation with the all white Rolls Royce.
It is confusing I realize to follow this story but it is the truth as to what happened.
If we did not have that other Rolls Royce available we would have had to cancel the prom event.
My point with the prom client was that we did our best and when we arrived the issue of the car was only expressed as a disappointment. They did not want to cancel the prom event, took a bunch of pictures and seemed fine with the Rolls Royce we brought. Ok it was not what they wanted and we admit that. But what they booked broke down as can happen with ANY year car. When they went ahead with the transport for 6 hours we felt justified to only refund part of their fare, which we did. We refunded them the difference between our fare for the Rolls Royce and the fare for the Bentley.
Any further questions about this can be directed to Tim at 404-992-4881. We would be happy to explain further.
