We made a million decisions for our wedding, but the easiest was going with Chrissy & Ideal Design Events. It was apparent after our first consultation when she came all the way to our home in Trinity, that Chrissy and her team could save us thousands and they had the experience and resources to prove it. Ideal Design Events set up meetings with only qualified vendors who fit our budget and passed any discounts they received directly on to us. She even got us a free photo session for our infant son in the deal with the photographer. No matter what we were dealing with, she went out of her way to make sure that even though we were on a restricted budget, it never felt or looked like it. Having Ideal Design Events on our side was like having a consultant, designer, promoter, manager, and accountant all in one. Chirssy was flexible about times and places to meet and worked entirely around our schedule. She listened to every idea we had, even the silly and underdeveloped ones. She also had plenty of ideas of her own to inspire us. She was able to use our wedding colors and a couple of words we gave to describe our style and turn an empty white room into the wedding of our dreams. Complete will up lighting, gorgeous center pieces, tablescapes, and foliage all courtesy of Ideal Design Events huge warehouse collection. The Ideal Design Events staff took charge the day of the wedding so we could truly enjoy ourselves. She directed all vendors and wedding party members to come to her staff with questions so we didn't have to deal with a single issue the whole day. Chrissy even held our sleeping son for two hours during the reception so that we didn't have to worry about him and our parents could enjoy themselves. We would recommend Ideal Design Events to anyone getting married or planning a large event. It will be the best decision you've ever made.

I don't even know where to start. I live in St Pete, my mom lives in Michigan. We were lost, spending a ton of money at Michael's and running around in circles when my mom suggested a wedding planner. We found Chrissy on the Knot and called her on a Sunday morning. She not only answered the phone at the crack of dawn, but met us at David's Bridal later that afternoon since my mom was flying home that night. Her first rule: don't buy anything. She said she had everything we could ever want or need in her warehouse and not to spend any money. (the other planner we called for a second opinion didn't own anything) Her second rule: it was my wedding and she wouldn't make any decisions for me but would guide me thru the waters. Her third rule: remember what's important. When my mom and I would argue over the budget, Chrissy would remind us of the rules. We spent over a year pplanning the wedding and it was full of fun and excitement. She met with my fiancee and I countless times, took my phone calls at 3am when I was freaking out, took my moms calls when she worried about the budget and invited me to visit her weddings so I could see her work up close. As a civil employee, she even worked around my crazy schedule. It finally came time on April 10, 2009 and our wedding was not only absolutely beautiful, it was a great party! Not stuffy and full of pomp, it reflected us. She had a finger on every single detail down to know the fact that it was not only our wedding but also my parent's 25th anniversary and had a small cake for them at the reception. She helped with the menu, she went to my dress fittings so I didn't have to be alone. Her assistant Lori even made my grandma a dinner plate because she couldn't get to the buffet. I didn't have ti pick up anything, I didn't have to clean up anything. I was free to be the bride. I didn't have to make my bridesmaids put candles out or set up the place cards. I will forever be grateful for giving me a platnium wedding on my budget. (I love that show)

I also used Ideal Design Events for all my wedding planning. I hired and paid Chrissy for the full wedding package: invitation to decorations to day of. [She has different packages depending on what support you need and what you can afford.] Chrissy had wonderful recommendations of things I should do and what language should be written in what contracts. She helped me go from a low budget crappy design [that I had picked] to a beautiful, cost conscious design. She was very flexible in the areas where I wasn't willing to spend money (flowers), and helped to bring the best partners to the table when I wanted the best (cake). Chrissy also helped to hunt down my favorite band and ensured they stayed accountable for what they promised to me. Even when the hotel coordinator forgot items, she worked to fill the gaps. I was VERY pleased with Ideal Design Events and would highly recommend them. The poor description I see above does not sound like the company I know. I liked using them because she is a one-stop-shop for all things wedding, and she was the one person accountable for everything.

Our wedding planner Chrissy was our ray of sunshine and the answer to our prayers. From the moment we met her until we returned home from our honeymoon in Jamaica, she was outstanding. (she even had my name changed while I was gone on everything except my passport) She welcomed us into her office and gave us a guided tour of her warehouse and her inventory. She explained every detail to us down to the minute by minute timeline she provided us, our families and all of our vendors involved with. Her assistant Loraina helped my husband and his family with every detail of wedding day duties while Chrissy was with me and my bridesmaids from the morning on steaming my dress and assisting with broken zippers and missing earings. (the emergency kit made me speechless) The decorations in the ballroom were perfect and everything I dreamed of down to the detail of the starfish she projected on the wall behind the band because she knew I loved them (when I didnt even pay for this special touch) Our place cards were beautiful starfish on a bed of white sand. The starfish tie backs on her bamboo arch added the perfect touch. To help us save the budget, she created centerpieces for us out of sand and shells and sea glass. The linens were coordinated to the theme I was going for and she found little ways to incorporate both my italian heritage as well as Jeff's irish background. I thank you, my parents Joe and Liesl thank you, Jeff's parents Tim and Rose thank you and Jeff thanks you for letting me have the story book wedding I always dreamed of and I didnt have to lift a finger to do any of it. I can't wait until it's time for you to plan the baby shower in a year or so!

This message is meant to inform you of the problems that occurred by our contracting with Ideal Design Events, owned and operated by Christina Craft out of Largo, Florida. Ideal Design Events was to provide decorating services for our wedding at the Hilton Clearwater resort at Clearwater Beach on May 24th, 2009 as well as the decorations for a reception on May 23st. What follows is a description of events for each date. May 23st – Rehearsal The main issues were that Christina Craft failed to show up to the event, leaving her staff to provided the wrong table cloths, the wrong grass shirt for the bar and buffet, and tiki torches that contained no lighter fluid. My wife and I, as well at the Clearwater Hilton staff, spent 45 minutes out of the 3 hour event attempting to keep the torches lit. Christina she stated she was “on her way” to the event at 3:30 for setup when we all realized there was a problem with the table cloths. However, she did not show up until 9:15 with the event ended at 10. May 24th – Wedding day There were numerous issues with items that did not conform to the contract, namely but not all-inclusively: 1. $1100 swags which were to be used as decoration for an outdoor wedding. They were to run vertically and have uplighting. Instead, the staff installed small, cheap white “sheet” products 10 minutes before the ceremony. Christina first stated that this is what we asked for, then changed her story and presented the groom with $1100 in cash 15 minutes before our wedding ceremony. This is the only item to be reimbursed and she still owes the tax which was prepaid. 2. Decorative Asian umbrellas were to be hung at varying lengths from the ceiling of a canopy and each was to be individually lit. However, one strand of lights was installed and the umbrellas were hung at a uniform length with one string instead of being secured. This was an outdoor wedding with the dinner/dance under a canopy. Thus, the umbrellas swung violently, hitting the rafters, falling to the ground during dinner, and breaking lights over our guests on the dance floor. 3. She wrapped potted plants in napkins because she did not bring silver pots as our contract stated. Now, all of the pictures of our wedding have napkin wrapped plants in the background. 4. We explicitly asked for 10 glass cylinders with black rock, orchids, and an LED light. We received 10 glass cylinders with a variety of rocks, beads, and flowers. Also, only one of the 10 cylinders had an LED light which functioned, one had an LED light with a dead battery, and the other 8 had no lights. 5. We requested a carpeted runner for the aisle on the beach for the bride to walk down. What was provided was an approximately 2’ x 6’ carpet which was placed next to the alter. Our goal was to hire a wedding decorator who would help eliminate some stress. Christina not only added stress but has been completely unreachable since the 24th of May and refuses to return emails, phone calls, or text messages. I could go on for days with additional events which occurred over the past 15 months, but will limit this message to the events of May 23rd and 24th. We advise that you obtain several references prior to entering into a contract with Ideal Design Events. Please feel free to contact us for examples, documentation, or a verbal description of events.
