Lana photographed our wedding in Springfield, KY and overall we were very pleased. Her work is unique and definitely has a feel to it - she undeniably captured moments. She took a good combination of posed formal shots with plenty of candid, photo-journalistic shots. She has a great personality and was fun to work with. After the wedding when we looked at the gallery she posted online we were a little disappointed. There seemed to be quite a few events and people missing, but she told me all of the shots she took except for a few were there, so I was sad so much was missed. These were what we had to choose from to select for our album, so it felt a little limited. Also, the colors were over the top. While it was vibrant and eye-catching, it didn't accurately represent the colors we chose. The bridesmaids' dresses are off, as are the flowers, the table decorations - pretty much everything was "punched up." When I asked Lana about it, she explained that it was needed to create realistic skin tones, and that vibrant colors are also her signature. She assured me it must also seem more so because of differences in computer monitors. When our album arrived it was clear the issue wasn't my monitor, because they were as unreal in the actual album as they had seemed on the online album. I'm still pretty bummed about that, because I was happy with the colors of my wedding and wanted them better represented. That being said, the album is constructed beautifully, and is really different from what you usually see. We also paid for DVDs of all full resolution images - which turned out to be over 1,000 shots she took on our wedding day. So while the colors are strange on the ones she edited for the online album there are hundreds of others that are normal. But sadly we didn't know that and could only choose from what was online. Also, she took about 25% of the shots at an angle - like with the camera turned 45 degrees for no apparent reason. I find that annoying but I guess a lot of photographers do that these days and I should have told her in advance that I didn't like that. All and all I'd say the experience about our photographs was good. One other thing that's actually pretty funny is that Lana is young and really cute. Our groomsmen spent most of the day falling over each other to impress her with how funny and clever they are - and unfortunately she got somewhat distracted. Which is something to be aware of if you expect to have her focused entirely on you and the wedding events all day.
