"Not Happy"

Unfortunately, I got what I paid for. I won't say JWA was terrible, but. . . 1). They mispronounced the maid of honors last name, which was the sister of the bride. 2). There were several times during the dancing when the music just stopped. People were dancing and all of a sudden, silence. And instead of just going into another song, the D.J. started the song from the beginning again. Silly. 3). Microphone for speeches did not work. 4). Did not play 1/2 the songs I requested as the bride. 5). The D.J's wife was pushy and bossy. Yeah , I could go on - just about terrible!

Vendor response: If this is the wedding I’m thinking of in January of 2009 they hired us a month before the wedding at a run down older banquet facility. I do recall the bride being in an unpleasant mood upon arrival because the banquet halls fire alarm kept going off and the Fire department was there and she was 8 months pregnant. I am sorry she had to post on line here and should have contacted us is she had any complaints so we could address and resolve the issue. The microphone worked fine for the maid of honor she was not standing close enough to the microphone stand she was 3 feet away. Our assistant coordinator, who she is addressing as my wife who also coordinated the ceremony told her to stand closer to the microphone. She also does the line up for the ceremony and sticks to a timeline for the day’s events which was submitted by the bride. Perhaps that is what she was referring to as my assistant being pushy and bossy because the fire department had put everything way behind schedule. As far as the songs being cut off. It happened once and it was for a song that was 8 minutes long called One Bourbon, One Scotch and One Beer which she wanted to keep it in a dance mix but the song is more of a belly up to the bar song rather then something you can dance to. We have wedding protocol and procedures we follow and try and keep things flowing smoothly. Bouquet & Garter toss the music mix stops and we run the activity on the floor and bring the mix back in after the activity. As far as the name being pronounced wrong we write it down as it sounds reviewed and gone over with the bride and groom prior to the day of the event she mentioned it was the maid of honors last name that we missed pronounced but it was the maid of honors first name. She thought we said Katrina when her name was Karina.. She only had 19 songs.. selections everyone of songs where played except for the One Bourbon, One Scotch One Beer song the selections where from artists like Johnny Cash, George Thorogood etc.. There was one other song that was selected by them and not played which was total eclipse of the heart by "The Dan band” version which is extremely explicit. We did not feel it was appropriate for a wedding. Our music library consists of industry standard radio edit format. We played the Bonnie Tyler original version of Total Eclipse of the Heart instead. We are sorry the Bride had some complaints however we feel we did an excellent job for the type of wedding it was.
