"Big Mistake! "

We used Marty (owner of Music Machine) for our fall 2010 wedding and it was our biggest mistake. He was late, forgot equipment, and replaced our white linen table cloth with a tacky colorful sign advertising his business. He refused to play songs unless I, the bride, requested them - sending guests who requested songs to me. Even after I asked him to play the songs he was argumentative and confrontational. This on my wedding day! And he still refused to play songs no matter how many times we told him to play guest requests. We only hired him for 5 hours and were planning on feeding him dinner while he was working after all of our guests were served. Imagine our shock when the servers went to inform him to get a plate and he was already seated at one of our guest tables eating! We did not provide him with a seat because we hired him to play dinner music. Yet he took it upon himself to seat himself at a guest's seat and annoy our guests through dinner! This led to boring elevator music through dinner (rather than our specific dinner requests) and a huge lull at the end of dinner while we all waited for him to get back to work so we could get to dancing. There was also a long, awkward silence after our first dance when he decided not to play music and when a song skipped, it took him almost the entire song to switch it. He preceded every song on our play list with "this is one of bride (name) and groom's (name) favorite songs" which was annoying and inaccurate. He continued to do this even after my husband asked him to stop. Marty the Music Machine proved to be a poor choice and he is our only regret of our otherwise perfect day. His conduct was childish, immature, self-absorbent and entirely unprofessional. Do not hire him. Almost a year later I still regret doing so.
