Tried to let this man know he was not choosen for the job and this is what I get... "Then why did you waste my time putting this request for bid out? Jeezzz!!! Do you think people have nothing better to do than chase empty leads? " Very unprofessional.
Vendor response: I don't agree with today's inconsiderate attitudes. Part of the event planning process is soliciting vendors, and along with that comes the responsibility, no matter how tedious, of taking their calls or answering their emails. That's the only way they know you've received their bids. Just as it's courteous to send a Thank You card to those who bring you gifts and vendors you do hire. Don't label someone 'unprofessional' simply because they call you on your discourteous behavior.
