Upon walking into the store you are immediately brought to a table and asked a few questions concerning the date of the cermony as well as what type of dress you are looking for and in what price range. Of course, when I gave them my price range they immediately escorted me to the couture dress room and showed me dresses that were at the max end of my range. To avoid this I woul suggest gving a more conservative number so that way you can always work your way up. I ended up buying the second dress I tried on. The girls picked out dresses that I may not have chosen but they looked great on my body type. The only aggrevation is that you are not allowed to look through the dresses yourself and are subject to letting someone else find the perfect dress. However, you can try on as many as you want. They also provide a great deal for bridesmaids dresses. If you purchase your dress, accesories, bridesmaid dresses, mother's dresses, and flowergirl dresses through them you can get anywhere from 10-20% off of the wedding parties dresses. If you buy a dress the first day you visit Bella Vista then you get $150 off of a veil. I absolutely love my dress and dont think I could hav found one like it anywhere else!!

I had a wonderful experience at Bella Vista Bridal. They asked me the time and place my wedding was to help me find a dress best suited for my location. Yes, they asked me for a budget and I LOVED that they did. I went to 2 high end stores in Chas and they asked me my budget, and still showed me dresses twice as much...so why show me a dress I can't have? If you were upset about them asking that question, you obviously don't know what good customer service is, since they were only trying to help you find gowns in your budget and not have you fall in love with something you couldn't afford. Maybe DAvid's is more of your style...

"Their tag line in their advertisement says it all..."

The tag line on their homepage says it all...."you want to be proud of WHERE you bought your dress". I'm sorry but where I bought my dress means NOTHING! How I feel in my dress, how well it fits, is it the correct style for my figure, can I afford it, etc. That is what I was looking for but the gals here didn't have time for that. It was, "what is your dress budget"? The climate of the remainder of my time in their boutique was determined by my answer to that initial question! No, I wouldn't recommend this boutique to anyone, the stress of planning a wedding is enough without some self appointed snoot making the dress buying experience ugly!

This is exactly what Columbia needs! Not a wharehouse, stuck in a metal building, or dresses hanging off racks or mirrors on the floor. I have been to shops in Chas, ATL, and Char and this is up there with the best! I see some people have problems with being asked if they have an appointment, but you can't even walk in the door to other stores unless you have one. And yes, it makes sense to put you in a smaller dressing room when you have smaller dresses. The larger rooms are for the larger dresses. Did you complain when you tried on wedding dresses in the larger room? Everytime I visted Bella Vista, I always made sure I had an appointment. One day I saw a bride and her mother with tears of joy because she just found her dream dress, and it was on sale. So do have dresses for people who have a budget. This store is not for everybody, and that is OK....that is why David's stays in business.

While shopping for my gown for my wedding, I visted Bella Vista Bridal to look at a gown, that I has seen in the window. Upon entering the store, there is an automatic feeling of being unwelcomed. The staff is rude and unless you are spending thousands, they have no time for small talk and tight budgets. I would not suggest this birdal shop to any bride that is in search of a beautiful gown and a memorable experiance.

I had a very pleasant experience with Bella Vista... while they wanted my money. I ended up buying an expensive gown there, and they were very amiable and bubbly during the experience. However, when my gown came in and I paid the final balance the kindness of the sales associates quickly disappeared. They became cold and made me feel very unwelcome, like an annoying little pest in their shop. I brought my maid of honor there to try on dresses, and the five-star treatment I had received for my gown purchase vanished. I was so shocked and embaressed, because they did not treat my maid of honor well, and they stuck us in a very tiny dressing room with a disfunctional door. I guess you only get the nicer larger dressing rooms and quality service when they think they have more money coming from you. In hindsight, I would probably have ordered my gown from Charlotte at New York Bride Loft (the owner there is just wonderful, very nice lady) had I known that Bella Vista's client treatment depends entirely on how much money they will be getting from you. After you buy your dress there you get a nice cold shoulder and an overwhelming feeling that they no longer have any desire to serve your bridal needs.

They are some of the nicest women that I encoutered on my hunt for the perfect dress. Believe me, I didn't go in there with a whole lot of money but they made me feel like I was the most important person there. When my maid of honor showed up in sweat pants they didn't bat an eyelash (although I did). Great service, awesome people. I got my gown and my bridesmaids dresses from them. My mom got her dress there too.

I only wish I could give them less than one star! As a wedding planner, I’ve had many complaints from brides about the terrible service experiences at Bella Vista. I decided to check it out for myself… Terrible x3 is all I can say. You are made to feel as if you are not wanted and not “rich enough” to shop here upon setting foot in the door! Please enjoy your dress shopping experience… Don’t go here!
