it is always disturbing to me when an event does not go well, many events in fact all events have glitches, problems due to human error, problems with weather, etc. nobody takes these things more to heart then i do. sometimes however there is mis communication and sometimes there are times when the client has to take responsibility for their actions as well. with regard to this review, i want to say that i am truly sorry that they are not happy, but i believe the reasons they are not happy are because some where after the wedding the service stopped. we are never responsible for clients personal property after an event. i am always firm about a clients person property, who is picking it up, who takes gifts home, etc. this is not a service i provide unless contracted to do so as a wedding coordinator. in this case, as we always do, and as we always say we will do, we placed the cake knife back on the cake table with the box it came in. they left it. there were many missed opportunities, appointments set to pick up the cake knife as we did take it back to the office as they did indeed left it. the groom missed all of the times set up, and when he finally came, that knife had indeed been moved from place to place, drawer to drawer, shelf to shelf in a small office for weeks. i am truly sorry for that, however i do not feel responsible for this item, nor do i feel responsible for the brides shoes. the bride gave her shoes to a server and asked her to keep them in my office for her. ok, well it was a server who was new, who never worked for us again and was sent home early after her shift, and forgot to tell anybody about the shoes. i can assure you i didn't take them home and i can assure you that in almost 30 years i have never been asked to take the brides shoes home after a wedding. both the bride and groom had a wonderful time and perhaps to much to drink, as they should after all it is a party, a wedding and a wonderful day, which is why every effort is made in advance to make sure there is somebody responsible for things like this, not the caterer - florist. with regard to other ugly comments, i will say that the groom misquoted me about the "tired or work". i am never tired of work, i love to work and i love my work, but i said and often after a 20 hour day or multiple weddings in a week end i am tired from work and that is exactly what i said. the sour milk comment is completely out of context and referred to the time the milk would have to sit out before it was being used for the "joke" that was planned. again, i am never happy about things that go wrong and assume responsibility for all my actions. however, this was a beautiful wedding, with very good food, very good service and the most beautiful brides. the pictures are posted on the blog of the photographer and that says aot about the entire evening. finally, i invite all concerned to go to other site to read reviews there, such as the bridal insider . com as well as the recent site for a contest sponsored by channel 10. its called channel 10 news a - list...the feed back and comments are overwhelmingly positive. that's all. i wish these 2 people the best always of course, i truly do.
