Search the internet for other reviews. I won a bouquet valued up to $350 from Petals by Xavi at a bridal fair. When going in for my consultation, I was told my bouquet was contingent on booking with them. After seeing so many bad reviews, I was hesitant, but to be told I HAD to go with them for my prize when it did NOT say that on the certificate made me run the other way! I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Petals by Xavi responded saying it was contingent on booking. I faxed BBB the certificate. Good idea to make it contingent for business, but the prize certificate DIDN'T say that. Sorry, Petals by Xavi. Bad business decision. They also wrote that my suggestion for resolution -the cost of an average bouquet from another florist (like I would trust them now for my wedding!) was "absurd!". I felt it was fair. I won a bouquet and they aren't living up to the terms of a contract/certificate they signed.

We were clueless when it came to flower vendors, and Petals by Xavi somehow got our number and called us in an attempt to solicit business. Like I said, we were clueless, so we gave them the time of day. During our first meeting, we met with one of the staff members (I do not remember her name), but she was really nice, flexible, and understanding of our price range. She gave us some ideas along with an estimate of what it would cost. We were really impressed with the feedback we received, the reasonable price, and the glossy photos, so we decided to go with them. Soon after that, we had the pleasure of meeting Xavi herself. However, there was a completely different vibe at this meeting. Whereas her staff member (Xavi: take some notes here) was kind, warm, and seemed interested in who we were, how we met, what kind of wedding we want, etc, Xavi was very short with us, and proceeded to prescribe what she felt we needed for our wedding. This, of course, nearly doubled the cost of the flowers because Xavi felt we needed to rent vases, candles, etc. I felt really uncomfortable with the price and the things that were added, so I decided to think about it, talk to my husband, and contact Xavi with our final decision of what we were going to get. After doing research, we realized that we could do a lot of things ourselves and save tons of money since our wedding decor was going to be simple anyway. I called Xavi and informed her that we decided we would have her only do flowers for the ceremony (bouquets, sprays, boutonniers, etc.). Of course, she did not seem too happy with that decision. As the wedding day crept closer, we attempted to call her to finalize and make SURE she had our order right. We could not get a hold of her: every number we called was not answered and if we reached a staff member, they would take a message and never call back. Oh, but when it came time to pay, they were quick to call us and inform us. By the way, Xavi complained that she "could not get a hold of us." Right. After going over the finalized order, they did not even have up-to-date information about our file (remember that part where we were only going to have them to the ceremony? They did not make those changes) weeks before the wedding. On top of it, we sent them a check for the payment in the mail. They called (several times, by the way) saying they "never received the check." We saw that it wasn't cashed, so we figured they were telling the truth, and we sent them another one. Right after the wedding, we noticed that they cashed BOTH checks simultaneously, meaning that they took double the amount they were supposed to get. Are you kidding me?? Did they think we wouldn't notice? Wow. We tried calling them: no answer. At one point, Xavi even answered (we recognized her voice) and claimed it wasn't her, saying she'd "give Xavi the message." It was clear that she was avoiding us. Xavi did not return any of our countless messages. But when we threatened to take them to court, they were quick to send us a check for the money they took. Very professional indeed. Ahh yes, the flowers at the wedding. They were completely unimpressive. Many of the flowers in the bouquets and boutonneires looked wilted and even bent. Also, we had asked for a certain type of garland (lemon leaves) to line the center aisle. Xavi brought ivy, which looks completely different (even though we specifically told her we did not want ivy). Luckily, we did the reception decor ourselves, so Petals by Xavi was unable to make more mistakes. This company has no concept of customer service and is completely unprofessional. I honestly cannot believe they are still in business based on how they treated us.
