My wedding was held in 2005. For the last four years, I have stewed over the fact that I didn't speak up and tell those at Stephen Duvall that I was very unpleased with the service that was provided to me. I wanted a planner that had my best interest in mind (not referral fees) and who was dedicated to stretching my dollars as far as they would go. I was NOT listened to by my planner at SD, and on the day of my wedding was disappointed that my cake was a totally different shape than I had asked, food that I paid for was thrown away or given to the staff after my husband and I left, my florist was late to the church and had the planner's suggested centerpieces on the table rather than my very detailed request (and I had provided photos), and the list goes on and on. I have been a corporate event planner since 2006 and to top it off, when I inquired about a position that was open as a part-time planner for this company, I was told politely to "go away" by the planner who had helped me....I think because she was afraid that I might blow the whistle on the horrible job that was done at my own wedding. All I can say is that there are LOTS of great and reliable event planners in the Charleston area--most of whom have your best interest (and your wallet's) at heart. Use anyone besides these people! The only positive I can say is that the food was flavorful and wonderful. Guests complimented the food long after the celebration had passed.
