I have just taken home Melissa's frosted chocolate cupcakes, and also her tuxedo brownies...WOW. They are already gone...I have not tasted any cupcakes (and brownies)this good since my Southern baker mama was still making cakes!! I am VERY particular about the cake, and this was so moist and fresh...and the frosting was the perfect sweet balance---no 'shortening greasiness'. As far as cupcakes go, Melissa's leave Saint Cupcake AND Jaciva's cupcakes in the dust! I have been looking for the Perfect Cupcake, and this is it.

"Horrible cake for my nephews going away to college party !"

My sister bought a cake for my nephew's going away party. (Off to college) She said she found this new bakery in Gresham and the web site was gorgeous ! Not one person of our group of 20 took more than one bite of that cake. It was horrible. It had either been frozen for months or was made of something other than what we are used to for cake. Almost cornmeally or something. It was inedible. And not a cheap throwaway. Thank god for the Jaciva's cake we also had, or there would not have been dessert. They won't last long with those type of offerings. Yuk !

Melissa did a fabulous job on my wedding cake. Not only was it absolutely beautiful, it was delicious! We ran out of cake... people came back for thirds! People keep telling me that was the best that they have ever had! You have a customer for life. I will refer everyone I know to you! You are the best!

I was extremely happy with the birthday cake we ordered for our son's 10th birthday. Melissa designed it herself and was so wonderful to work with. You can tell she loves what she's doing and puts her heart and soul into it. We gave her the theme, she made a drawing and that was that! We ordered and enjoyed every bite. Not only are her cakes beautiful, but they are sooooooo delicious. Try the chocolate dipped strawberry!!! Absolutely the best of all.

Melissa is so easy and fun to work with! She designed a gorgous and unique wedding cake that was the best tasting cake I have ever had. Everybody loved it and commented on how fabulous it was. Her prices are quality are the best Portland has to offer. I would highly recommend Sweet Cakes for any event!!!
