"Have they ever met a kid . . . "

I work at an establishment that uses Gourmet Gorilla for their catering. I'm not sure anyone who works for this company has ever even met a child. The items on the menu are things I'm not even used to eating (i.e. ratatouille, couscous, squash, quesadillas with mango salsa, stuffing . . . etc). The pasta is dry and hard. The Mac and cheese seemed to have no cheese. The lasagna is nothing but cheese. The food never looks very appetizing. My students eat less and less everyday, and many of their parents are concerned about their eating habits since we switched to Gourmet Gorilla. I have tried a lot of the food. The chicken and turkey is always good, but my students still won't eat it. Quite a few times the company has gotten our order wrong as well. I know parents want their kids to eat organic, but you cannot give a company a good review just because they're organic, which seems to be what the other reviewer has done. I think Gourmet Gorilla needs to step back and assess their audience when it comes to catering for kids. Organic does not mean weird. Make kid-friendly organic food!!

"A much needed product"

This is a much needed product for our children! I recently heard Gourmet Gorilla speak at a competition for sustainable businesses, sustainillinois, of which they were a finalist. They seem to have a good mission and are passionate about what they are doing. Like myself, the founders are parents who wanted better food and nutrition for their son and approached the owners of their son's daycare to change the food program. I believe the other post is mistaken and the owners of Gourmet Gorilla are the original founders of Green Monkey. They parted ways earlier this year to effectively continue doing what they believe is best for our children, the environment, and local farmers. There is much need for better food in our school systems and the more the merrier!

"A little deceiving..."

Gormet Gorilla was formerly part of Green Monkey Catering. I was disappoined to see that they still use the Green Monkey name but did not have anything good to say about them. In my opinion Green Monkey (the real ones) are a much better deal and service. If you are ok settling for mediocrity then Gormet gorilla will do, but if you really want good service and outstanding food, go to Green Monkey.

I recently attended an event catered by this group. I have to say I was a little skeptical at first since everyone seems to be hyping organic everything these days (guess I'm a food snob). From what I understand, they focus on catering for schools, children and institutions. This event was private and adults only, but it's clear why they are trusted to feed children. Delicious, clean and on time.
