"I will never recomment them"
Broomfield, CO

Miramonte Lodge is a very pretty venue. My wedding went great, due to me planning every last detail of it. That being said, here are the issues I had with them. The day of the rehearsal no one showed up. We had met with Mike (the owner) 4 days before and he had told us someone would be there at 10am (when our rehearsal was scheduled), and that we needed to bring everything for the reception (decorations, etc) so that we could show them how we wanted it set up the next day and we wouldn't have to worry about remembering everything on our big day. Well, like I said, nobody was there and we waited an hour before we left. We just left our stuff in the entryway since we didn't know what else to do with it. During the 2 meetings that we had with Mike preceeding the wedding, he had convinced us to book their DJ, which we were okay with since they were around the same price we had budgeted. He assured us that their DJ was amazing at keeping the party going, seeing that they only do weddings so they are great at making things run smoothly. Well, we didn't find out until the day of the wedding that we weren't getting a professional DJ, the same guy (Mike) was going to DJ our wedding. While we were eating the speakers completely crapped out and we couldn't find him anywhere to fix it. I've worked with sound ssystems before, and during an event there should ALWAYS be someone at the sound booth in case something goes wrong. The music eventually fixed itself, but then he ended up announcing some song that he was going to play and played the song he had just played 2 songs before. He didn't even notice even though everyone stopped dancing and had dumbfounded looks on their faces, until I walked up to the stage and told him. I do not feel like the experience he gave us with the "DJ-ing" was worth the $600 we paid for it. A couple of days after the wedding I had called Mike to find out when we could go pick up our stuff from the wedding (centerpieces, etc), and he said the first day anyone would be there was that Saturday, only 6 days after our wedding. When we showed up to get our stuff there was absolutely no organization. We had to dig around in their storage room for at least a half an hour trying to find everything. They lost my vail that I had taken off during the reception and had forgotten to take with me at the end of the night. Not only that, but we had extremely nice crystal vases that are my grandparents (one of whom passed away recently), and when we counted there were only 9 there. Well, we had used at least 13 of them, so I knew there were some missing. They were setting up for a reception that was later that day and had taken our vases (that were in a box that was clearly marked with our name) to use for that reception. Needless to say, we took them back, rightfully so. When I told them that I couldn't find my vail anywhere they told us that we should have come back sooner to get our stuff if we didn't want anything to get misplaced. It had only been 6 DAYS and that was the first day we were told was available for us to come get our stuff. If we were any other just married couple we probably would have been on our honeymoon still. If this is what happens to stuff left there for less than a week, I don't want to know what happens to everyone else's stuff. The food was delicious, and we had ordered a cheesecake wedding cake from them that turned out phenominal (I even took the rest home to eat, lol), but those were really the only pluses that they had to offer. I will never recommend this venue to anyone. Your wedding day is surrounded by enough stress as it is. Why add unnecessary stress when you don't need to. Please, go with someone else. I promise you will not regret it.

"Very Disappointed"

We got married at Miramonte Lodge in the fall of 2007. We were happy to find a place in town that was affordable. They offered us a very nice package deal at a very nice price. However, it turns out that you get what you pay for. First, there were some positives. Despite their service, it was cheap. The food was very good. And the venue was a pretty site that held lots of people (300) for the wedding and the reception afterwards. The negatives...our photographer turned out to be an amateur who also served drinks between pictures, the pictures we received were amateur (decent but not astounding), and the photo album we were given fell apart in the first year. Advice, meet your photographer and see their personal portfolio before signing any contracts. We had issues with the menu down to the day before and always, for everything, had a hard time getting ahold of anybody. Although, as mentioned before, the food turned out to be one of the better things that happened. As an example of the reliability of the Miramonte lodge, the morning we scheduled for the rehearsal, NOBODY from the Lodge showed up and all of the doors were locked. We never did get ahold of anybody until later that day when they called about the food. We barely even got an apology. When we made the arrangements to use the lodge, the kids playground was promised to be finished and the downstairs where the bridesmaids and groomsmen were was promised to be recarpeted by that time. The playground was a selling point because we had a LOT of children in attendance. Not only was there no carpet the morning of the wedding but our families had to spend their time cleaning up the mess (balloons, trash, etc.) left from the event that we assume happened before our wedding. Last thing, I think, they understaffed the wedding big time and that was evident from the drink server/photographer and the fact my dad had to help serve the cake. Oh, and the photographer promised to stay past her scheduled time (at a monetary rate) so she could take pictures of our first dance. She disappeared and we never got those pictures. It then took way longer than promised to get the photos she did take. After all of the problems we had, we had to fight for months to get anything in return for the poor service. They finally told us they would give us some free 8x10 photos. We realized they were not going to try to correct the problems and said okay. We finally got the photos they promised us months later....they were the wrong size. We haven't contacted them since. We learned a lot from the experience and are trying to share that information with other happily engaged people. I think it is clear where we stand on the Miramonte Lodge. Other things we learned that were on us....we did the music ourselves. We would have hired a professional DJ or band. We would have met the photographer personally. And, most importantly, we would have gotten a lot more things in more detailed writing, especially refund options if things were not up to par. We hope this helps a little bit!!!
