I am one of the other Raleigh area brides that had booked Kim Thompson for my wedding cake. I, too, was trying to work out some simple details with her and got NO response. I simply went back and checked her website and saw that her address had changed to Kentucky!!!!! She obviously had time to get online and do some work for her business, but didn't have the common courtesy, or the decency to let her clients know of this change. I understand that she may have some family issues, but she has dealt with the situation in a completely unprofessional and childish nature. I would have been more understanding of her situation had she actually communicated instead of leaving me in a hard place 2 months out from my wedding. Save yourself the stress and get you cake elsewhere!!!
Vendor response: Client should get her facts straight before posting slanderous remarks online.

I booked Kim for my wedding cake in the Raleigh area. Gave her a deposit and everything. As the time drew closer to my wedding, I started emailing her to work out some small details and I got no response. FINALLY after a lot of digging, I come to find that she's got a new address on her website, she left NC and went to KY!!! This left me with NO BAKER for my wedding cake!! Finally I get a reply, she told me to send her my address and that she would send me a refund. I sent her the address. Several more weeks go by, and I get nothing. I started emailing her, telling her that I was tired of waiting and to just send me my deposit back. She finally wrote back saying that my email was mean and to please understand her situation, and that the deposit was now non-refundable. What?! Do yourself a favor and do NOT do business with this woman.

I am a bride from Raleigh, NC, where Kim used to live and ran her business. We booked her for my wedding and gave her a deposit to hold the date. She moved to Kentucky for family problems (which is completely understandable) but failed to let me or her other clients know she had moved for 2 months. (I am friends with 3 other brides booked with her) I have emailed and called several times over the past few weeks, but she has failed to send me my deposit back, or even respond to my emails or phone calls. I would just like my deposit back, but she will not contact me. She is obviously taking on new clients in the Lexington area, and I would hate to see this happen to another bride like myself- to have less than 2 months to go before the wedding with no cake baker and less my deposit money.
Vendor response: Since the above infomation is false and obviously slander, I can't believe that Decidio allows character demeaning remarks to remain active. Please check with the vendor for the actual version of the story and an adult response that doesn't include slander and name calling.
