I ordered cake three days before my daughters 40 birthday party and am so glad I did not listen to the bad reviews. The cake was perfect so was the service not to mention the price was right. I will continue to order there and ignore the bad reviews, after all there is always those that are never happy.

very disappointed ...cake lookes cute tasted terrible. poor custumer service not one of the 42 guests ate the cake it was thrown away very upset

I purchased a baby shower cake here. It was a beautiful cake, but the fondant frosting was so thick and tasted so awful I will never order from here again.

What a cute cake shop, reminds me of the bakeries back East. I love the selection of cupcakes, cookies and brownies. My only complaint is that the parking lot is too small and the shop is always crowded.

Just can’t tell you how much I LOVE this place! I have been ordering cakes from them for the last couple of years. The girls who work there are so nice, and extremely helpful when I call to place an order. And I am always totally amazed at how gorgeous and delicious the cakes turn out! I also stop by the shop from time to time, cause they’ve always got different flavors of pretty cupcakes, yummy cookies, and sometimes even specialty items (like fudge brownies) in their case. So it’s really nice to be able to stop by on my way home from work, and pick up a few tasty treats for my family! I’m giving Sugarlips 5 Stars!!!!!

I called for a last minute order and Sugarlips went above and beyond, even going as far as making a special filling that they did not have on the menu, just for me, because my husband loves mint! I can tell the girls there take great pride in their work, and care a lot about the customer's needs. I will be telling my friends and family and everyone I can about this wonderful place. Thanks Sugarlips!

I guess I'm what they'd call a "regular" here... I go in every Friday for their cupcake deal, and my kids have come to expect a box of cutie-deelicious cupcakes to accompany me when I get home from work on Friday nites! We ordered my little guy's b-day cake from here as well, for his bowling party, and he was so excited, he totally went crazy over it! The ladies at the counter are always super nice, and they recognize me when I go...although I feel a little gluttonous about this, it is also nice to see a friendly face. Anyway, this place is just what the Phoenix area needs more of... a diamond in the rough. With a cherry on top.

OMG... never in my life have i met such rude people i called yesterday and the employees were very rude and short. It was for rush delivery but i called twice and was quoted 2 totally different prices about 1hr later I figured out that i could not afford the 2nd higher price so i had e-mailed them to let them know i can not do it. Today Stephanie e-mailed me this Considering you placed a rush order, and we spoke with you more than once on the phone, wrote up your order, and printed out your pictures, you could have at least had the consideration to CALL us to cancel your order. We are busy here, we do not hang out on the computer all day checking emails. We did not get your cancellation email until just now. I came in early this morning and baked your cake. So not only have we lost money in the time and printer ink, but I have a cake here that I may or may not be able to sell to someone else. Our policy is that we do not allow cancellations within 7 days of time of order, this includes rush orders. If someone does end up having the nerve to cancel after they've placed a rush order, we put your name on a list, and you cannot order from us again. Please consider this the next time you decide to waste the time of a small mom and pop business. Also keep in mind she is baking my cake 3 days before i need it this was important to me and i do not want stale cake by any means. do not ever go here!

If you get a cake from Sugarlips Cakery.... you are going to be WOW'd!!! I ordered a cake recently and my entire experience was wonderful. The staff was very helpful considering I had no idea what I wanted. And the cake was amazing. Not only was it beautiful...it was soo delicious. All my guests wanted to know where I got it. I will be going back for seconds!

"I traditionally give small boxes of candy to my employees at Christmas. A friend of mine shared a cookie in the shape of a Turkey with me from Sugarlips cakery. The cookie not only tasted fantastic it looked even better. For Christmas 2008 I asked Sugarlips Cakery to design 4 dozen cookies ( 4-6 inches tall) with various Christmas designs. They provided both religious and fancifull designed cookies and each one was placed in it's own plastic bag and ready for me to hand out. I wish I had ordered more! People from other deptartments were asking for cookies to take home to their kids. This Easter I started a new tradition and ordered Easter cookies for my team.....they hope I start a Memorial day tradition!"

From the moment I bit into that Triple Chocolate cupcake, I have been hooked on Sugarlips. I am there just about every week for my fix!! I have ordered cakes from them as well, and never have I been disappointed. The Pink Champagne cake is just to die for, it melts in your mouth-it's that good!! And the designs on the cakes are incredible. It's just a great mom-n-pop cake shop, one that reminds me of the great bakeries you see in the midwest. This place is a definite must try!!!

The staff was EXTREMELY helpful and kind when I brought them my unique wedding cake idea. Melodie took the time to sit with me and my fiance while we deliberated over flavors and my intricate design. When the big day finally happened, the cake was EXACTLY as I had imagined it, tasted SOOO good, AND she delivered it to NW Phoenix (a drive from her establishment)! I have only GREAT things to say about this place and it's staff!!

I ordered my sons first birthday cake thru them. Melody, the owner, took my order, gave me a price and then told me when to pick it up. We picked it up but didn't look at it before paying, our mistake. When we got home it wasn't as ordered. We wanted royal blue as our receipt said. It was not royal blue. It was white. When I called Melody back she told me she didn't charge me a customization fee so the colors were her choice. Customization fee? She never mentioned a customization fee. She took my order and when I told her the colors I wanted never said she couldn't do it or there would be an additional fee. When I said I wanted it fixed or discounted (it was right before the party, didn't know if there was time to fix), she said I already paid, enjoy your party and then hung up on me. An owner of a business hangs up on a customer, who would want to do business with them. Especially when they disregard your color selections and choose whatever color they want anyway. If you are even considering them, BEWARE. If I could give them zero stars I would have.
