This
do-it-yourself guide identifies and provides solutions to the most
common reasons why a Link Exchange partner has received a link
exchange notice from Decidio:
Problem
#1:
The URL listed where your reciprocal link to Decidio is
located is incorrect.
SOLUTION:
Correct the URL where your reciprocal link can be found by
following these steps:
-
Log
into your Decidio account from www.decidio.com/account
-
Click
on the 'link exchange' link on the left menu bar.
-
Enter
the correct URL where your reciprocal link is located in
the 'Step 2' field.
-
Click
the 'Update' button on the bottom of the screen to save
your changes.

Problem
#2:
Some web design programs (such as MS FrontPage)
automatically change HTML link code when copying/pasting HTML.
SOLUTION:
Verify that the original link code has not been
modified by following these steps:
-
Find
your reciprocal link to Decidio on your website.
-
RIGHT
CLICK your mouse anywhere on the page containing your
reciprocal link.
-
Select
‘View Source’ from the list that appears.
-
Find
the Decidio link code in the text (txt) file that appears.
You can search manually or use the top toolbar by clicking
Search – Find – and typing ‘Decidio’ in the field
that appears.
-
See
if the original link code has been modified to something
other than <a href="http://www.decidio.com"
If so, replace that portion of the incorrect link
code with the correct code found below.
Incorrect
code Example: <a class="decStyle"
href="http://www.decidio.com">
Change
to:
<a href="http://www.decidio.com"
class="decStyle">

Problem
#3:
Some websites being hosted by a third party or websites
that use frames commonly show a URL different than the
‘true’ URL.
SOLUTION:
Verify that the URL listed is the ‘true’ URL where your
reciprocal link is located by following these steps:
-
Find
your reciprocal link to Decidio on your website.
-
Using
your mouse, move the cursor NEXT to the link (not directly
on the link) and RIGHT CLICK your mouse.
-
Select
‘Properties’ from the list that appears (usually on
the very bottom).
-
Find
the ‘Address URL’ in the box that appears. This is the true URL where your reciprocal link
is located.
Compare
the URL in the box that appears with the URL listed as where
your Decidio account can be found. If they are different, please log into your Decidio account
and update the URL where your reciprocal link is located.

Problem
#4: Due to technical reasons, some websites temporarily
‘go down’, experience connection
problems, or happen to be offline when our link
verification spider happens to go by your site.
SOLUTION:
If this has happened, but your site is now back up AND there
is a valid link on your site, you can safely disregard this
message. We validate links once a week. If you get the same
message two weeks in a row, it could indicate an invalid or
unrecognizable link (see problems #1-3 above).
